ICE HOCKEY STICK ACCESSORIES FAQS

  • Should I wax my Hockey Stick?

Wax can prolong the life of your stick tape by creating a watertight barrier across your stick, so ice and other moisture can’t get in and unravel your tape. The wax we stock is specifically formulated for hockey and comes on the stickier side, helping players with puck control and shot precision. Waxing your stick also helps to prevent the buildup of snow and ice during a game or training session.

To apply your wax, simply rub along the bottom, front and back faces of your blade for extra control and feel; we recommend the Matrix Slick hockey stick wax.

  • How can I make my Hockey Stick Longer?

If you’re a youth player on a growth spurt or just want to try out a longer stick, stick extensions are a great option. Plugs fit into the end of your stick and can add an extra 4” or 6” onto the length. Stick extensions can also be trimmed down to fully customise and get the perfect length for you. Once you’ve glued in your extension, leave your stick alone for 24 hours to allow the glue to completely dry.

If you’re thinking about trying a plug to lengthen your stick, it’s important to know that it will affect your stick's flex profile.
