Fresh Cut Magazine

Our friends at Fresh Cut believe that hockey is more than a sport. It’s a lifestyle. From that moment you first laced up a pair, bought a ticket, pulled over a jersey, packed and unpacked and repacked a kit bag, took a seat, celly in the stands, used the word celly, taped up a stick or picked up the tape afterwards. Hockey became part of you and you part of it. You did not realise it at the time, but you didn’t just buy into a sport. You purchased the lifestyle and all the good, bad, and downright weird and wonderful that comes with it. So amateur or pro, lifer or newbie fan, media or merchandise seller, ref or zamboni driver. You are the hockey culture…..

Fresh Cut showcases anything and everything British hockey related by a quarterly print magazine. Letting you see and hear the untold stories, with Fresh insight and perspectives, from the hockey lifestyle. After all, on the ice is only part of the game.

Edition 5

That’s right hockey fans, we are back with a brand new edition to really kickstart the 21-22 season.

Ambition - It’s that ever-present companion right from the start of a new journey.

That’s why in this edition we tell stories with ambition right at their very core. From the man who took a gamble on a failing, historically troubled, hockey club and was instrumental in its regeneration. To the full and very ambitious story of how an NHL original six team was persuaded to play an exhibition game against one of our Elite league teams, from those who made it happen and were there. A sledge hockey goalie shares with us his own story of coming back from having a stroke at a young age, to be playing competitive sport once more.

An award winning, popular, Elite league player shares his career story with us. Scottish Ice Hockey has some ambitious plans moving forward. Along with the GB programmes huge summer training camp. We go behind the scenes with one of UK hockey’s largest clubs to see what goes into putting a team out on the ice from an equipment manager’s view. Not to mention the guy who adorns this edition’s front cover, Liam Kirk, speaks to us about his ambition growing up and how it has led him to the situation he is in today and still on course for getting to where he wants to be. Along with all the usual and ever present sections of the magazine.
